Yamaha has already announced the MT-03 for riders in the US, but for European riders there will be another entry-level MT to consider. Yamaha has updated its MT-125 for 2020, making its smallest streetfighter an even more fantastic feeder bike or nimble commuter.
Considering Yamaha has sold more than a quarter million MT models in Europe since 2013, it's no wonder the brand is keeping its 125 up to date.

One notable revision comes to the 124.7cc single, which will feature Variable Valve Actuation (VVA) design borrowed from the YZF-R125. This, according to Yamaha, provides the MT better torque and top-end performance.
The VVA system employs two intake cams. One is designed to optimize pull in the low-end and midrange, and the other is designed to take over above 7,400 rpm and provide continued performance to the 10,000-rpm redline.

Working through the six-speed transmission is made easier thanks to an assist and slipper clutch, providing light lever pull and smooth downshifts.
The MT-125 employs a steel Deltabox frame and aluminum swingarm, and is suspended by a 41mm USD fork and link-type shock out back. You get 5.1 inches of travel out front and 4.5 inches at the rear. It’s got a single, radial-mount caliper and 295mm front disc brake and 230mm rear disc.
Bodywork is derived from the larger siblings of the MT line, with aggressive, angular lines, highlighted by the new, and arresting, dual LED headlight setup. It also comes with an updated LCD instrument panel that displays your speed, tachometer, tripmeters, fuel level, and a clock.
Riders can expect to see the MT-125 in dealerships by December 2019, but Yamaha hasn’t yet to announce a price for the machine.
