The 2021 Yamaha Ténéré 700 will be here by the middle of next year, and at a remarkably competitive price. Yamaha revealed that starting MSRP for the adventure machine will be $9,999. Yamaha also announced two additional colorways for the 700 in addition to the Ceramic Ice already unveiled. These include a Matte Black scheme and an Intensity White.
The 689cc parallel-twin-powered machine showed promise during Cycle World testing in Europe earlier this year, with admirable road prowess and decent dirt chops. However, as it stands now, ride modes and traction control are absent so riders will need to rely on the old-fashioned method of throttle and clutch control to really have fun off-road. This isn’t such a bad thing, and helps to explain the attractive price point. ABS, however, can be switched off if desired.
Yamaha is also planning to deal with the rush of demand for accessory add-ons, so is already developing a full line of bits and bobs to add to your 700 to get it just right.
For those who want to be among the first to own the Ténéré 700 stateside, Yamaha has a registration form for you. You’ll get the latest news on the new bike as well as early access to the reservation portal when it’s live. Yamaha has indicated that the first deliveries of the Ténéré 700 will happen in early summer 2020.
