Honda revealed some thoughtful updates coming to its 2021 Gold Wing, responding to riders’ requests for more carrying capacity and improved passenger comfort.

The Gold Wing will be available in five variations in 2021: standard ($23,900), DCT ($29,300), Tour ($28,300), Tour DCT ($29,300), and Tour Airbag DCT ($32,600). The revisions Honda announced impact its Tour models, owing to the fact that these three come with top cases and passenger backrests standard.

To start, the top case will be 11 liters larger, for a total of 61 liters of capacity. Honda promises this case will be large enough to comfortably fit two full-face helmets. Many riders were unimpressed with the luggage capacity of the machine when Honda revamped its Gold Wing platform for 2018, so this will be a welcome, if not overdue, enhancement.

The enlarged top case also allowed Honda to revise the ergos of the passenger backrest, now providing a more relaxed angle, thicker foam, and a taller profile. The seat gets an aesthetic update too, with a suede-like cover and new piping for stronger color contrast. The passenger area on the Gold Wing was already fairly solid, so this touch-up is like a little extra icing on the cake.

The Gold Wing will sport updated audio elements, such as new 45-watt speakers, an improved automatic volume adjust system, and a standard XM radio antenna. The infotainment system adds Android Auto integration alongside the existing Apple CarPlay integration.

And finally, the rear turn signals are now all red, providing a slightly cleaner look to the back end.

The improved Gold Wing will be available starting in February. The standard and DCT models will come in a Deep Pearl Gray colorway, the Tour and Tour DCT models will be available in either Candy Ardent Red or Metallic Black, while the Tour Airbag DCT will come in Candy Ardent Red.
