Best Looking 2020 Motorcycle? MV Agusta Superveloce 800

MV Agusta took home a notable accolade on December 17, receiving recognition as one of Lombardy’s Design Excellences for its Superveloce 800 from the Association for Industrial Design and Lombardy’s Regional Government. The machine broke cover last year as a prototype and it has officially entered production at MV’s Schiranna factory near Milan.

Earning such an award is high praise for the Centro Ricerche Castiglioni design team, and Design Director Adrian Morton.

“Having won the Concorso di Eleganza in 2019 with the Superveloce 800 Serie Oro to be awarded with a recognition outside the motorcycle sector is an incredible honor and a testament to the energy and passion we dedicate to every project,” Morton said.

The Superveloce 800 was designed around an F3 800 with the intent of creating a machine that embodies speed. That function dictated the eventual form of the motorcycle, and nods to the past in the nose and tail serve that end, resulting in a bike that looks both modern and nostalgic without any of the kitschy feel some neo-retro motorcycles suffer from.

“This award recognises the hard work and the passion of all the women and men of MV Agusta who contribute, with their daily work, to the crafting of true pieces of motorcycle art. They accomplish the daily miracle of shaping beauty and performance into a single object of desire,” said Timur Sardarov, CEO of MV Agusta Motor.

The praise may continue into 2020 as well, as the Superveloce is also in the running for ADI’s prestigious Compasso d’Oro 2020 award.
