Spidi Alpentrophy Adventure-Touring Jacket First Look

Spidi introduces the new Alpentrophy, an adventure-touring jacket that is versatile and reliable.

The exterior is made from a blend of Cordura and heavy-duty nylon that’s highly abrasion, tear, and puncture resistant. It’s also water- and windproof, classed among Spidi’s H2Out garments, meaning it’s equipped with the brand’s proprietary membrane designed to keep water out and still allow for breathability and comfort. Waterproof zippers and pockets help to keep you and any important belongings well-protected from the elements.

Inside is a removable insulated liner and fixed mesh lining. You will get a pair of ForceTech shoulder protectors and Warrior Lite elbow protectors at purchase, and can opt to fit Spidi’s chest and back protectors in the jacket as well, though those pieces are sold separately.

For warmer days, there are numerous adjustable intake and exhaust vents. There’s also Spidi’s Ergofit system, allowing for fitment adjustments throughout the jacket. Neoprene at the collar provides additional comfort.

The Alpentrophy connects to corresponding pants via the zip connection at the base.

Sizes small through 3XL are available, starting at $599.90 in the States. You can choose from Black/Gray, Black and Fluo Yellow colorways.

This new jacket fits into the middle of Spidi’s current waterproof jacket line, ringing in $400 less than the top-tier Globetracker jacket and $300 more than the Traveler 2 options available. You’ll get quite a bit more sophistication in design and materials in the Alpentrophy compared to the Traveler 2, but will lack elements such as synthetic down insulation and the bevy of Toray-designed materials utilized in the Globetrecker.
