2025 Aprilia RSV4 and RSV4 Factory Preview

New aero, electronics, and brake updates for Aprilia’s RSV4 superbikes.

The 2025 Aprilia RSV4 and RSV4 Factory get new aerodynamic elements, reshaped bodywork, and a slight boost in power.Aprilia

You can always count on Aprilia to showcase the latest in racing and track bike-focused hardware, and for this year’s EICMA show, the Noale, Italy, company did not disappoint, trotting out the absolutely cracking new RSV4 superbike, complete with new aero designs and other improvements for 2025. The World Superbike–winning machine’s main updates focus on new aerodynamic elements with a styling refresh thrown in, as well as a new display and braking enhancements. For 2025, you can choose from the base sportbike or the higher-spec RSV4 Factory. Let’s dig into the details.

Both RSV4s (base model shown in Poison Yellow) receive those new aerodynamic winglets positioned just below the reshaped nose.Aprilia

At the core of both models you’ll still find Aprilia’s narrow-angle high-performance V-4 engine—the brand’s most powerful ever. With minor tweaks to comply with Euro 5+ regulations, including a set of larger 52mm throttle bodies and a new exhaust, this year the 1,100cc Vee offers increased torque and power, generating a claimed 220 hp at 13,100 rpm and 92.1 lb.-ft of torque at 10,800 rpm. Those numbers make the RSV4 the world’s most powerful homologated production superbike, says Aprilia. The catalytic converter has also been repositioned to reduce heat toward the rider and ease fitting of the homologated slip-on exhaust from Aprilia’s accessories range.

Given the Italian brand’s extensive work on applied aerodynamics it should come as no surprise that this latest RSV4 benefits from new bodywork as well as the addition of new aero. The redesigned plastic is aimed at improving rider protection as well as reducing drag, with two stacked wing surfaces now jutting out directly below the windshield. The new winglet configuration, a trickle-down design from Aprilia’s MotoGP efforts, works to increase downforce for better cornering control and high-speed stability, while the new fairing reduces drag and wheelie tendency compared to the outgoing model, thus boosting acceleration. The reshaping continues with new side panels that flow into the revised tailsection and a lighter rear light cluster that’s integrated into the number plate holder (the bike can be prepped for track use by removing that holder). Along with two new radiator fans, the aerodynamics also help reduce engine heat directed toward the rider.

Other new details include a revised upper triple clamp made from lighter aluminum, while the top-spec Brembo braking system gets a performance boost via new front Hypure calipers, which are said to be lighter and more efficient than the previous Stylema units.

The 2025 RSV4 Factory comes in this Dark Kraken color scheme and offers an additional suite(s) of predictive electronic controls along with semi-active Öhlins suspension.Aprilia

Meanwhile the onboard electronics for the RSV4 (and all new Aprilia V4 models) have been refined too, and a new 5-inch TFT instrument cluster gives riders a better view of the active rider assistance systems. On that front, Aprilia has brought in additional

new adaptive and predictive components, available as in-app purchases, for riders wanting to optimize wheelie, traction, and yaw settings according to their riding style; although you’ll have to pay, you’ll no longer need to visit a dealer, which we suppose is a mixed blessing.

Both models come equipped with a six-axis inertial platform, a ride-by-wire electronic throttle, and three riding modes that manage the three levels of cornering ABS and the controls in the APRC electronic suite, which include:

  • Traction Control: adjustable on the fly without closing the throttle, with eight levels.
  • Wheelie Control: adjustable to three levels, designed for track sessions.
  • Aprilia Engine Map: three different maps to modify the engine power delivery.
  • Aprilia Engine Brake: the three-level adjustable engine-brake control system.
  • Quick Shifter: an electronic gearbox with a downshift function without engaging the clutch.
The new 5-inch TFT color instrument cluster on all Aprilia V4s features a fuel level indicator and new backlit control switches on the handlebars. Upper triple clamp is now made with lighter-weight aluminum.Aprilia

The RSV4 Factory offers even more control, with additional Track Pack, Comfort Pack, and Race Pack features coming standard. These configurations offer additional

launch control, slide control, cruise control, and lap time recording along with a plethora of other settings. And because the RSV4 Factory also includes the semi-active Öhlins Smart EC 2.0 suspension system, a corner-by-corner suspension function is also standard equipment; it automatically adjusts the electronic settings of the semi-active suspension set by the rider before going out on track.

Both models come standard with a six-axis inertial platform, ride-by-wire electronic throttle, and three riding modes that manage the three levels of cornering ABS along with other features in the Aprilia Performance Ride Control (APRC) electronic suite.Aprilia

The RSV4 and RSV4 Factory are both powered by the same 220 hp V-4 engine, but the base model is spec’d with a fully adjustable Sachs mechanical suspension rather than the electronic setup. The RSV4 is available in either Poison Yellow or Stingray Blue.

The more premium Aprilia RSV4 Factory piles on up-spec equipment like forged aluminum wheels, the Öhlins semi-active suspension, and the additional electronic packages which include the new Slide Control function, the corner-by-corner suspension, and engine power delivery calibration. It’s available only in the Dark Kraken color scheme with two-tone saddle, but we don’t yet have any pricing or availability info.
