2025 Kawasaki KLX300SM Preview

The small-bore Kawasaki KLX300SM supermoto you know and love returns.

Kawasaki’s KLX300SM supermoto returns to the lineup in 2025, with the only major change coming in the form of a price reduction (in place at the writing of this article), down to $5,849 from $6,599. It’s available now from all participating Kawasaki dealers.

Kawasaki brought the 292cc single-powered bike to the US market back in 2021, and the following year we got our hands on one for a thorough review. The platform, put simply, is a whole lot of fun. Our tester noted that the bike’s “light and nimble handling makes it an excellent around-town ripper” and that its “approachable power characteristics and forgiving handling make spinning laps aboard it a hoot.”

Since it’s still a fairly new model, it’s not surprising that Kawasaki chose to carry the bike forward unchanged. It did get some aesthetic love last year with revised styling to give it a more KX-inspired look. Riders will get a few different colors to choose from in 2025 though, either Battle Gray or Phantom Blue.

Some additional details of note include the 43mm cartridge fork with 16-position compression damping adjustment along with a Uni-Trak shock setup at the rear with adjustable preload and 16-position compression and rebound damping adjustability. Braking capability comes by way of the same dual-piston caliper and 300mm petal disc setup at the front and single-piston, 240mm petal disc at the rear.

All told the KLX300SM remains a fun, highly capable, and broadly appealing machine.
