Terry Poovey Benefit Fundraiser

A benefit fundraiser will be held for injured AMA Grand National Dirt Tracker Terry Poovey at Mooney's Pub in Peoria, Illinois, on Sunday, September 17,2006.

The veteran racer sustained serious injuries in a multi-bike crash on the last lap of the Springfield Mile on Memorial Weekend, and is currently in stable condition in a hospital near his home in Texas.

Transporting Poovey by air from Illinois to Texas reportedly cost $10,000 that was not covered by his insurance, so the benefit will hopefully raise funds to cover that expense and to help support his family through this trying time.
