Volcon ePowersports has announced its entry into the e-bicycle market with its new Brat e-bike. The Brat is made to handle both on and off-road riding and takes its styling cues from the Grunt and Runt motorcycles in the brand’s line. The Brat will be available starting November 2022 at $2,799.
“While our brand was built on the dirt, we have a passion for all things performance and the Brat meets our expectations,” Volcon CEO Jordan Davis said in a company press release. “We set out to enter the market with not only a high-performance machine but a bike that had style as well. The ebike market is saturated with look-alike products, and we believe the Brat stands out from the crowd in both looks and performance.”
That performance comes from the Brat’s 750Wh battery and 750W motor, which enable the bike to reach speeds of up to 28 mph. Charge time is between six and seven hours on a Level 1 outlet. It’s capable of 70 miles per charge in Ride Mode 1, and 30 miles in Modes 2–4. Mode 1 supplies the least amount of pedal assistance and does not engage the throttle. The throttle is activated in Mode 2, but assistance is still light. Mode 3 provides more power and torque while Mode 4 gives riders full access to the Brat’s performance capabilities.
The Brat also has front and rear suspension, with an adjustable USD fork at the front and an adjustable monoshock at the rear. Hydraulic disc brakes provide stopping power.
It also comes with a 4-inch LED color display that, in addition to providing all the bike’s vital information, is Bluetooth compatible, allowing you to connect your smartphone and use the Volcon app to access even more detailed information.
LED lights are used front and rear, and a lockable storage compartment also features a USB charging port.
