Zukun Plan is an industrial design firm that’s worked for a variety of companies including Corning, Coleman, Dirt Devil, Fisher-Price, Power Wheels, and loads of others. It is now exploring the idea of entering a new segment with the EGO Z56.
The EGO Z56 is a new take on a kid-friendly dirt bike. It has a light, streamlined aesthetic using the 56V 7.5Ah battery as the focal point, an ARC lithium 56V battery from EGO Power+. A maintenance-free 1,000-watt DC brushless motor provides power to the rear wheel.
The bike is built for riders 6–11 years old, and provides about an hour of riding time on a single charge. They’ve made the battery swappable, so with a second battery on hand, all-day riding is a possibility, as it takes about an hour to fully charge a depleted battery.
The design of the bike really steals the show though. From the futuristic headlight and integrated taillight, the tubular frame, to the crisp, minimalistic approach, the EGO Z56 is a showstopper in a segment that is largely overlooked when it comes to innovation.
This is only a concept however, and Zukun Plan conducted the design exercise more to show a willingness to support the advancement of the powersports industry than to signal any real intent on entering the space. Also, EGO Power+ didn’t collaborate on the design and the product does not represent any future direction for the power tool company. Still, it’s a sharp design and innovative perspective on a kid’s dirt bike.
