2023 Honda Monkey and Super Cub First Look Preview

Honda keeps its miniMOTO line as strong as ever in 2023 thanks to returning Monkey and Super Cub C125 ABS models. The machines are unchanged, and both will be available starting this month with the Super Cub pricing at $3,849 and the Monkey starting at $4,249.

The Monkey and Super Cub made their way back to the US market in 2019, built around the existing 125cc air-cooled single powering the popular Grom. Unlike the Grom, however, the Monkey and Super Cub have rich histories that instantly touched off deep feelings of nostalgia for riders who were around in the ‘60s, ‘70s, and ‘80s. The new versions remained true to the styling and design of the originals while featuring plenty of modern comforts, from LED lighting and LCD instrumentation to better brakes, suspension, and transmissions.

These features naturally remain on the 2023 models and the Monkey and Super Cub continue their appeal to urban riders who want a bike that’s lightweight, extremely easy to handle, easy to park, and highly fuel efficient. The Monkey is more sporty, with its scrambler-styling and decent on/off-road abilities. The Super Cub is more of an elevated scooter design that we found easy to ride and fantastic for surface street commutes during our first encounter back in 2019.

Either option is going to turn heads and inspire smiles. The Super Cub will be available in just one colorway in 2023, Pearl Gray, while the Monkey will come in two schemes, Pearl Nebula Red or Banana Yellow.
