Triumph is giving its entire Bonneville family a refresh for 2021, updating its 900cc and 1,200cc high-torque engines to meet and exceed Euro 5 emissions requirements. Chassis revisions result in weight savings on a number of models, and component upgrades offer better braking performance. Styling elements are refreshed as well, and a limited-edition hand-painted Street Twin Gold Line will also be offered. All models will be available from Triumph dealerships this spring.
The T120 and T120 Black both get a revised 1,200cc high-torque twin, which features a lighter crankshaft and new clutch and balancer shafts. The revisions help to reduce overall weight and contribute to a snappier response at the throttle. Additional weight savings are found in the new aluminum wheels.
Braking performance is improved thanks to new Brembo front brake calipers and discs. Cruise control is now a standard feature on both models. New styling elements include a revised 3-D dial face instrument cluster and a new three-bar metal tank badge.
The Speedmaster gets the revised 1,200cc high-torque twin engine as well, complete with Triumph’s latest ride-by-wire system and dual Road and Rain riding modes. Handling performance will be improved thanks to a larger-diameter 47mm Showa fork. The new Brembo braking hardware is included on the Speedmaster, and a new twin seat is in place offering better lumbar support to the rider and a more cushioned perch for the passenger. LED lighting is standard front to back.
The Bobber also utilizes Triumph’s updated 1,200cc high-torque twin, ride-by-wire, and dual ride modes. It also receives a larger, 3.17-gallon fuel tank, 47mm fork, and a new 16-inch fat front wheel and tire. The bike rolls on classic wire-spoked rims shod in Avon Cobra tires and benefits from the higher-spec Brembo braking components put to use on the T120 and Speedmaster. The LED headlight is new and a range of updated, blacked-out covers enhance the aggressive look of the machine.
The T100 is powered by a refreshed 900cc high-torque twin, which provides more power and torque than last year’s model. Its redline is increased by 500 rpm and new elements include lighter balancer shafts, low inertia crankshaft, thinner-walled clutch cover, and a magnesium cam cover. Triumph is also offering an A2 license kit in European markets, which can be removed by an authorized dealer once the rider has passed their tests.
The T100 features new Brembo dual-piston hardware at the front and a revised fork for better stopping and handling performance. The bike is fitted with Triumph’s latest ABS and traction control systems (as are all the models mentioned in this first look) and features a new instrument dial face.
The Street Twin also gets the updated 900cc high-torque twin and the ability to be fitted with an A2 license package. It rolls on new cast wheels, comes with improved Brembo braking hardware, and features an improved bench seat.
There will be an additional model available in the Street Twin Gold Line, for those with a taste for limited editions. Only 1,000 Gold LIne Street Twins are planned for production worldwide, and each will come with a certificate of authenticity.
The Gold Line edition will come with all the upgrades found on the standard Street Twin but will come dressed in a Matte Sapphire Black and hand-painted gold line colorway.
