Honda has already revealed some of the details of its 2021 Grom, but up until now it was unclear whether the revised model would be available in the States. The speculation can now stop as Honda has confirmed that the updated mini will be available to US customers next year. There are no details on availability, which Honda has promised to provide early next year.

The updates we know include a revised engine to meet Euro 5 standards yet retain its previous power output. The bike also gets a new transmission, which adds a fifth gear. We expect this little package to have a bit more pep down low than before as a result of the changes.

Honda is also equipping the new Grom with quick-release bodywork, allowing riders to easily customize their rides. There is a new LED headlight along with a slimmed-down subframe and seat, promising that the already compact machine will be even more nimble. The LCD instrument panel is revised, with a gear position indicator and tach. Specs for the 2021 model in the UK indicate the machine will drop 2 pounds as a result of the changes from the 2020 model as well.
However, we’ll have to wait until American Honda releases its specs to know for sure that all the international updates will be applied here. All photos are from Honda Europe.
