The 2020 Honda Montesa trials bikes have just been released; if you have what it takes to tackle this challenging sport, then Honda has the bikes for you. Commemorating the 26th FIM World Championship won by Repsol Honda’s Toni Bou earlier this year, Honda is releasing the 4RT260 Race Replica in the distinctive Repsol colors, the more affordable 4RT260, and the new and improved 301RR for those of you who are ready to race right now.
“There’s only one Toni Bou, and for 2020 we’re proud to offer American trials enthusiasts the three Montesa Cota models that have directly benefited from the champ’s development input,” said Chris Cox, American Honda's manager of experiential marketing/public relations. “Whether it’s to tackle the AMA NATC MotoTrials series or to spend weekends on technical trails with your friends, no lineup of trials machines is better equipped to get the job done.”
All three motorcycles are built around the same twin-spar aluminum frame and single-cylinder engine with a five-speed transmission. The 301RR is a 299cc engine while the 4RT260 models feature a lower 258.9cc with smaller bore and shorter stroke, 39mm Showa fork, and Pro-Link system with a single Showa rear shock. All three models utilize a single 298mm front disc brake with four-piston caliper and a single 155mm rear disc with two-piston caliper.
The 2020 Honda Montesa Cota 301RR weighs in at 159 pounds (dry) while the 260 models tip the scales at 161 pounds. Each model has its unique color and stylized bodywork, with the 301RR being offered in Sonic Gray, the 4RT260 in Ross White with red and blue graphics, and the 4RT260 Race Replica in the traditional Repsol colors. Pricing has yet to be announced, but all three motorcycles will be available in April 2020.
