2020 Ducati Scrambler 1100 PRO Preview

Ducati staged the first public appearance of its two, top-of-the-line Scrambler 1100 PRO models at ArtCenter College of Design in Pasadena, California, for students, teachers, journalists, fans, and influencers. The move also marks the start of a design challenge posed to students of the lauded college, which is to design the Scrambler of the future. Students will submit designs directly to Ducati’s design team, and the winning student will receive an internship at the Ducati Design Center in Borgo Panigale, Italy.

Ducati designer Jeremy Faraud, considered the “father” of the Scrambler 1100, was on hand to make the announcement, alongside world-renowned soccer icon and motorcycle enthusiast Alessandro Del Piero.

Faraud also led a design lecture, allowing those in attendance to dig deep into the Scrambler 1100 PRO and 1100 Sport PRO. Ducati plans to hold a second event in Bologna this March.

Fresh eyes on the platform could promise some interesting developments to the line in the coming years. The PRO and Sport PRO are currently the most exclusive in the Scrambler line and expected to be in dealerships at the end of March.

The PRO makes use of a newly designed steel trellis frame and aluminum subframe, all in black. The new dual tail pipe runs along the right side of the bike and the rear end was styled up with a revised plate holder. It also sports a new two-tone Ocean Drive colorway.

The Sport PRO takes performance to a higher level, retaining the upgrades seen on the PRO while adding Öhlins suspension front and rear, Brembo braking kit, low-slung handlebars, and café-style mirrors. It will be available in a Matte Black colorway.

Both models also come with cornering ABS, Ducati Traction Control, and three ride modes (Journey, City, Active). The PRO will start at $13,495 and the Sport PRO will price at $15,495.
