Urban riders who are looking for a little more power from Vespa’s lineup will look no further than the GTS 300. This model is powered by the Italian manufacturer’s most powerful engine, the 300 HPE (High Performance Engine), and produces a claimed 23.8 hp. Helpful electronics include LED lighting, traction control, a USB port, and bike finder device. Other GTS models powered by the same 300cc single cylinder engine include the GTS Touring, GTS Super, GTS Supersport, GTS Supertech which suit a variety of riders looking for more practical, increasingly more sporty, or a more tech-equipped scooter.
In our 2019 review of the GTS 300 we found that we were impressed by the scooter’s vigorous throttle response, precise steering, powerful brakes, and punchy engine.
Competition includes the Suzuki Burgman 400, BMW C 400 X, and Yamaha XMAX.
No major changes for 2020 aside from the announcement that the GTS Super (125 and 300 engine capacities) is available in a special series known as the Vespa Racing Sixties. This option swaps chrome rims for gold ones, and introduces new colorways/graphics (yellow/green and red/white) as well as a new seat. The standard GTS is available in blue, green, or gray.
