Two-up riding, touring capabilities, electronics, and…a supercharger. The 2020 Kawasaki Ninja H2 SX SE+ is Team Green’s beastly sport-touring machine for riders who can’t help but make the ultimate sport out of every ride. For one, the beast is powered by the same supercharged four-cylinder engine seen throughout the H2 line with electronics such as a quickshifter, launch control, traction control, and ride modes. Electronic suspension, wind protection, and accommodations for a passenger and luggage further round out this machine for a two-up tour. “Hold on!” will be the most common communication between rider and passenger.
Taking claim to Cycle World’s 2018 Best Open Class Streetbike category, the H2 SX SE “has a rush of acceleration that is unmatched in the segment, and rarely matched by a motorcycle of any type.… But there is also plenty of Dr. Jekyll to complement the supercharger’s Mr. Hyde. Down low and around town the H2 SX SE is civilized—easy to ride.”
While the supercharger sets the H2 SX SE+ apart from other tourers, it can still find competition in the BMW R 1250 RS, BMW K 1600 GT, Yamaha FJR1300ES, and the Honda Gold Wing.
The H2 SX SE+ was introduced to the H2 line in 2019 and with that there aren’t major updates to the model for this year. The self-repairing paint of the H2 SX SE+ comes in the Emerald Blazed Green/Metallic Diablo Black/Metallic Graphite Gray colorway. The machine is priced at an MSRP of $25,000.
