2018 Harley-Davidson CVO Limited

If you have a hankering for Harleys, a taste for touring, and love luxury, here’s your bike. To create the CVO Limited, H-D’s exclusive Custom Vehicle Operations has layered on more features, special paint finishes, and chrome than ever. Fittingly, the CVO Limited’s MSRP is the highest in the company’s 32-bike lineup, and it weighs, full of fuel, just 56 pounds shy of a half-ton. So, obviously, there is nothing shy about the CVO Limited.

In particular, the Milwaukee-Eight 117ci Big Twin’s output, a reported 125 pound-feet of torque at a lazy 3,500 rpm, is only matched by the CVO Road Glide. The big handlebar-mounted fairing features an electric shutter for managing airflow at the rider’s pleasure. The entire machine is festooned with LED lighting, from headlights to turn signals and expansive rear array. Heated seats with backrests for both rider and passenger feature leather inserts. And the Brembo ABS braking system automatically optimizes stopping power at each wheel; known as “Electronic Brake Distribution” in car-speak, this longtime automotive technology is just creeping into bikes.

Dislikes: This motorcycle weighs 944 pounds wet. A five-passenger Mitsubishi Mirage weighs barely twice as much. Apples and orange, true—but really?

Verdict: Far from being an ideal "do-it-all" machine. On the right road on the right day, however, yes!
