2017 Triumph Street Scrambler

2017 Triumph Street ScramblerCRS

When the pavement ends and the fire roads begin, the Triumph Street Scrambler tackles the job with aplomb. Beginning in England in the early 1920’s, riders would modify street bikes to traverse any terrain in point-to-point races and that often meant going off-road. Here is where the Scrambler motorcycle was born. The Triumph Street Scrambler is the latest iteration of the classic english brand to make an everyday retro-inspired road based motorcycle capable of light off-road use.

The Triumph Street Scrambler has been largely updated for 2017 with Triumph’s new liquid cooled throttle-by-wire 900cc parallel twin engine---the same engine found in the Street Twin and the Street Cup---but tuned for lower end torque. The Triumph Street Scrambler puts out 59 ft-lb of torque at 2,860 rpm and 54 hp at 6,000 rpm and features notable scrambler styling, a 2-into-2 high side pipe, spoked wheels, a 19-inch front wheel and 17-inch rear, and slightly higher seat height over the Street Twin.

Additional features of the Triumph Street Scrambler include a switchable traction control and ABS for off-road use, bash plate, off-road styled footpegs, and interchangeable rear pillion and luggage rack.

The Triumph Street Scrambler is priced starting at $10,700 and comes in three colors: Jet Black, Korosi Red / Frozen Silver, Matte Khaki Green.

Thoughts from the Staff

“I figure most people on Scramblers want to ride 80/20 road/dirt, and in that sense- the Street Scrambler might be the perfect bike for them. It’s light enough and powerful enough to hit the dirt, but also a great bike on the road.” Morgan Gales - Editor, Street Chopper Magazine
