2017 Kawasaki Vulcan SCRS

Kawasaki is known for making some of the most reliable and fun motorcycles out on the market. The Kawasaki Vulcan S incorporates sport bike pedigree into a well balanced and capable mid-range cruiser but with the Vulcan S, Kawasaki aimed to tackle a common complaint voiced by new riders, the problem of finding a motorcycle that that physically fits taller or shorter riders.

The Kawasaki Vulcan S touts its Ergo-Fit system as a way to accommodate riders shorter than 5’6” and taller than 6’1” with fully adjustable handlebar controls, foot pegs, and seating options. Best of all, these options are offered to the customer at no additional cost at the time of purchase.

Powering the Kawasaki Vulcan S is the Kawasaki’s 649cc parallel twin engine, which is also found in the ever-popular and sporty Ninja 650. The 649 cc engine produces 54.0 hp at 7,100 rpm and 42.3 lb.-ft. at 5,600 rpm. Power delivery is delightful linear power through most the rev-range and with an increase flywheel, riders can expect an improved low- and mid-range response.

Additional features include optional ABS (found on the Vulcan S ABS, MSRP: $7,499), six-speed transmission, and analogue tachometer / digital speedo instrumentation.

The Kawasaki Vulcan S is priced at $7,099 and comes in one color: Metallic Matte Carbon Grey.

Thoughts from the Staff

“This is one of the bikes that I recommend to my friend who wear Dockers. It runs great, rides great, I just really don’t want to have to look at it when I get off to fill her up with gas.” Morgan Gales - Editor, Street Chopper Magazine
