This new and improved edition boasts several enhancements compared to its predecessor, as covered during the 2020 BMW F 850 GS Adventure MC Commute Review. The TL;DR/W is: The F 900 GS a more agile and formidable choice for adventurous riders tackling both roads and trails off the beaten path. Here are the top five things we like about riding BMW’s F 900 GS Trophy Edition in the dirt:

  1. The 21-inch front wheel with a high-quality Showa inverted fork with damping adjustment and a superslick coating on the fork for less stiction.
  2. This 895cc parallel twin. This engine is nice and compact and it has really favorable torque. That makes it really easy to ride in the slick stuff.
  3. While BMW loves its 17-inch rear wheels, this shock now boasts compression damping adjustment, both on the high-speed and low-speed circuit. And you can adjust the preload, compression damping, and rebound damping without tools via handy knobs.
  4. The ergonomics on this motorcycle are really favorable for off-road riding. We love those meaty serrated footpegs, that adjustable rear brake pedal, and that this bike’s really easy to squeeze between your legs like a real dirt bike.
  5. If you’re looking for something lean and mean from BMW Motorrad, this $18,000

F900 GS Trophy Edition fits the bill.
