For 2024 BMW Motorrad USA shows off its up-spec middleweight adventure-touring bike in the F 900 GS Trophy Edition ($18,390 as tested. Read about the standard version in the 2024 BMW F 900 GS Adventure Preview article). Equipped with a number of nice improvements versus its predecessor (read or watch it in action during the 2020 BMW F 850 GS Adventure MC Commute Review) the F 900 GS is a leaner and meaner ADV ready to tackle roads (and trails) less traveled. Here’s everything you need to know about the 2024 BMW F 900 GS Trophy Edition:
This vehicle is powered by an 895cc parallel-twin engine with an eight-valve cylinder head and dual overhead camshafts. It has a 2-millimeter-larger bore than the previous F 850. BMW says it’s good for right around 105 hp. This motorcycle has less fuel capacity with its 3.8-gallon fuel tank. It weighs nearly 500 pounds in Trophy Edition trim.
The Trophy Edition is fitted with high-quality suspension, now from Showa, with a 43mm inverted fork with handy compression and rebound damping adjusters atop the fork leg, just like the rival Orange Brigade’s product. The front suspension also features a Kashima-like coating, which makes for reduced stiction on the fork. This bike rolls on a real dirt-bike-sized 21-inch front wheel up front with a 17-inch rear wheel setup.
We love the much improved look with its symmetrical headlight with LED lighting. Of course, this motorcycle is loaded with all the bells and whistles, traction and cruise control, along with heated grips. It’s got this beautiful 6.5-inch color TFT dash that is awesome to use with its tried-and-true multi-wheel interface.
We’ll see you next episode.
