Yuan Some Too? - America's Mission Motors May Partner With China's Zongshen

Boutique European motorcycle manufacturers aren't the only ones looking to Asia for rescue. American eBike pioneers Mission Motors recently signed a letter of intent with Chinese giant Zongshen Power Machinery. This potential partnership would give Zongshen access to Mission's proprietary electric-vehicle technology and allow Mission access to Zongshen's high-volume, low-cost manufacturing-not to mention a much-needed influx of capital to allow the struggling start-up to continue development of its radical, record-holding Mission One sportbike. Zongshen has requested a three-year plan from the Bay Area firm, and if the two companies can come to an agreement, the partnership could be complete as soon as this summer.
