2024 Yamaha Ténéré 700 Explore Preview

Yamaha plans to release another special edition of its popular middleweight adventure motorcycle with the 2024 Ténéré 700 Explore. This iteration builds upon the base model (read about it in the 2024 Yamaha Ténéré 700 First Look Preview article) to make adventure riding more appealing to a broader audience thanks to changes in ergonomics and standard technology, however the Explore will only be available to international riders next year, much like the 2022 Yamaha Ténéré 700 World Raid.

In terms of ergos, the Explore sits lower thanks to revisions to the suspension setup, which in turn also contributes to a lower overall 33.8-inch seat height (about half an inch lower than the standard 700). The 43mm KYB fork and remote-adjustable rear shock both have 0.7 inch less travel and increased spring rates. The goal is to give riders easier access to the ground, to improve low-speed control, and to maintain responsive handling even when the bike is loaded up.

The windscreen size is increased by 50 percent over the kit included on the standard 700, providing much better wind protection. The Explore will also come with side case stays as standard equipment so riders can easily fit Genuine Yamaha cases (sold separately).

The Explore also features a quickshifter to make moving through the gearbox a snap.

The only color will be Yamaha’s Tech Kamo and pricing will vary depending on the country in which you’re looking to purchase.
