**Los Angeles, CA **(MAY 30, 2012)**** -- The XDL Championship Series is kicking off the 2012 season in a brand new partnership with the MIROCK Superbike Series, the world's largest motorcycle drag racing series. Round 1 takes place July 21 & 22 at Maryland International Raceway in Budds Creek, MD, just outside of Washington D.C., as part of the WPGC Bike Fest.
"This event will be a really exciting way to start our season" stated XDL series founder Randy Grube. "For the first time ever we'll have the biggest name in motorcycle drag racing and the biggest name stunt bike competitions combine for a mega event. The WPGC Bike Fest already has an existing attendance of 7,000, so this could be really huge."
"We are very excited to have the XDL Series join the MIROCK Superbike Series as partners in the WPGC Bike Fest" stated MIROCK Promoter Jason Miller. "Bike Fest encompasses motorcycle drag racing, a stunt bike competition, a custom bike show, a vendor midway, a bikini contest, live music, and more. Fans can finally come to one venue and see it all. Now that the XDL Series is a part of the event attracting the top professional stunt athletes from across the country we are expecting to see even more growth in fan attendance. Maryland International Raceway is a premier IHRA National Event facility and welcomes the XDL, their riders, sponsors, and fans for what will be one of the most exciting events anywhere in the country. "
XDL competitions will be held on both Saturday night July 21 and Sunday afternoon July 22. Saturday night will focus on the hottest new thing: motorcycle drifting. Sunday afternoon will feature the final rounds of the FMF Cup national championship. In addition to the XDL competitions there will be plenty of free riding sessions as part of the event so street riders and amateurs can come and ride for fun along with the pros.
