Wyman Wins First AMA Pro Road Race of the 2012 Season

[Buffalo, NY: Kyle Wyman from Macedon, NY, won today's AMA Pro Vance & Hines XR1200 series race at Daytona International Speedway. Wyman's win was an all-American effort: His American-made Harley-Davidson rolled on Dunlop Sportmax® D211™ GP-A tires made in Buffalo, NY. It was the first win of the 2012 season for the new Buffalo-made race tires.

“This is a reflection of all the effort that has gone on in Buffalo by a group of really dedicated people,” said Mike Buckley, Vice President Sales and Marketing. “I want to thank all the guys in the racing department and in the Buffalo factory who helped develop these tires.”

Wyman came into the race with pole position and stayed with the lead pack through the seven-lap race. Heading around the banking toward the checkered flag, Wyman was in third and waited until the perfect moment to use the famous Daytona draft to slingshot past the first two riders and take the win at the line. Wyman—who is one of three brothers competing in AMA Pro this year—is no stranger to Daytona’s victory circle, as he won the XR1200 race here last year as well.

“I really like Daytona,” said Wyman. “I want to thank everyone on my team and also Dunlop tires for giving me the grip I needed to drive past those guys at the line. It was a great race, a lot of fun.”
