Fresh for summer is Hollywood’s The Bikeriders—a film that captures the essence of the counterculture motorcycle scene in the American Midwest during the late ‘60s and ‘70s (check out the A Century of Motorcycling | The 1960s and A Century of Motorcycling: The 1970s articles). The film follows a group of motorcycle riders, providing an intimate look into their lives, adventures, and the sense of freedom they find on the road. It showcases the camaraderie among motorcyclists, their passion for bikes, and the thrill of the ride. Here are a few reasons why you just have to check out the new The Bikeriders film which premieres Friday, June 21, 2024.
- While the story is fictitious, The Bikeriders really highlights what motorcycling culture was all about in the late ‘60s and ‘70s in the Midwest. It’s also an homage to Harley-Davidson, showcasing a lot of its bikes from that era.
- Harley-Davidson liked the film so much that it was one of the reasons The Motor Company came out with the 2024 Hydra Glide Revival model.
- The film features a star-studded cast: Jodie Comer, Austin Butler, Tom Hardy. These actors know what they’re doing and the acting in this movie is just top-notch as is the cinematography, the storyline, even the musical score is spot on.
- Motorcycles aside, The Bikeriders film is one of the best new movies we’ve seen since Top Gun 2 (read the Kawasaki To Reprise One of Its Finest Roles in Top Gun: Maverick article).
We’ll see you in theaters Friday.
