It’s an open class sportbike, a dragstrip weapon, and a high-performance sport-tourer all rolled into one. There’s nothing quite like the legendary Hayabusa, and Suzuki has confirmed its flagship hypersport is returning for 2025 with a few choice refinements.
Editor’s note: We last operated this vehicle during the 2022 Suzuki Hayabusa GSX1300R Track MC Commute Review, 2022 Suzuki Hayabusa GSX1300R MC Commute Review and 2022 Suzuki Hayabusa GSX1300R Review articles and videos.
The first is a nod to the Hayabusa’s long and successful career on the dragstrip. Suzuki says it has updated the ‘Busa’s Launch Control feature, which now employs revised engine speed settings for better off-the-line performance.

The other major change for the 2025 model comes in the form of a new Smart Cruise Control system, which allows the rider to use the Hayabusa’s excellent bidirectional quickshifter without inadvertently canceling the selected cruising speed. Considering the Hayabusa was likely already the sweetest cruising sportbike on the planet (we’ve tested it extensively since the 2021 redesign), Suzuki seems to be playing to its strengths here in a major way.

Aside from those two changes, the only other newsworthy update for the 2025 Hayabusa is two new color schemes, one being a completely new Metallic Matte Green/Metallic Matte Titanium Silver and the other a reworked Pearl Vigor Blue/Metallic Mystic Silver combination. The ever-popular Glass Sparkle Black returns for 2025 as well with a few trim tweaks to distinguish it from the 2024 version.
Otherwise we’re looking at the same great sport/sport-touring bike we’ve come to love over the last few years, right down to the familiar 1,340cc inline-four engine with its bottomless pit of torque and buttery smooth delivery. The six-speed gearbox remains unchanged, as does its actuation through Suzuki’s smooth-shifting SCAS system.
Speaking of electronics, the Hayabusa also retains its flagship suite of advanced rider aids. As was the case during our 2022 year model test, that suite includes IMU-enabled traction control and wheelie control (both of which have 10-way-adjustable settings) as well as cornering ABS, engine-brake control, and adjustable power modes.
Suspension-wise the 2025 Suzuki Hayabusa still rides on the same fully adjustable KYB suspension, which we found to be plush enough for all-day travel yet fully capable of delivering a thrilling day at the track. Braking is still handled by a pair of Brembo Stylema four-piston calipers up front and a single-piston Nissin unit at the rear.
MSRP for the 2025 model year starts at $19,399, a $300 increase over the 2024 model. Availability has yet to be confirmed, but we expect to see the new ‘Busa in showrooms by the spring.
