In an attempt to underline the newfound performance potential of its upgraded cruiser line, Victory has commissioned noted customizer and certified speed freak Roland Sands to create a cruiser capable of reaching the hallowed 200-mph mark at Bonne-ville this fall. Starting with the Victory Hammer musclebike, Sands reconfigured the riding position with rearsets and clip-ons, then built his own tail and grafted on a full fairing leftover from his AMA 250cc Grand Prix racing days to make the bike legal for the Modified Partial Streamlining class. A chain-drive conversion allows him to optimize gearing, RSD SLAM wheels reduce rotating weight and an Öhlins steering damper keeps it all stable at speed.
The bike has already gone 147 mph with a mostly stock motor. Sands is adding a turbo-charger next to hopefully achieve his 200-mph goal.
