Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park Proud to be Selected in 2012 Lucas Oil AMA Motocross Line-up

[The Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park Facility was designed to be as exciting for spectators as it is for riders, offering lush landscaping, available camping space and elevated viewing areas that offer sweeping views of the entire facility.

Lake Elsinore, Calif. - January 11, 2012 - MX Sports Pro Racing announced today that Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park will be the final venue of the 12-round 2012 Lucas Oil AMA Motocross Championship on September 8th. The brand-new facility opened on December 4th, 2011 and immediately came to the forefront as the premier motocross facility in Southern California.

"A successful search has landed the AMA Motocross finale at what we feel is the ideal location for a national event in Southern California," said MX Sports President Davey Coombs. "This is a brand new facility that was built from the ground up to host such an event, and offers riders one of the best layouts of any track in the country. We like to close out the summer where the sport of motocross thrives, and we believe we've found the perfect place in Lake Elsinore Motocross Park."

Motocross and Lake Elsinore have been synonymous since the 1960s when the Grand Prix racers took over the town's streets. The track first opened in 1999, but was shut down in 2010, and left a gaping hole in the Southern California motocross landscape. The park was resurrected last year by Vision Quest Enterprises owners - Tom, Gio and Joe Nanci. They put a very large investment on the line that caught the attention of the Lucas Oil AMA Motocross Championship promoter - MX Sports.

[Designated viewing areas are linked by paved walkways, allowing spectators to move quickly between vantage points for the best possible view of the action.

"We have put a ton of time and effort into making our track into a national caliber facility," said Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park Owner Tom Nanci. "Knowing that our track will be holding not just any national, but the 2012 finals, is our biggest indicator that we have succeeded.

The track was designed by Marc Peters to create a place for all skill levels to come and have fun. The Main track, which will be home to the event, offers a challenging mix of elevation changes, off-camber turns, step-ups and jumps. The 100-acre riding facility is impressive to look at with white board fencing, concrete spectator paths and well-placed overlooks that allow spectators a great view of the action.

"We're very excited to be hosting the final round of the 2012 Lucas Oil AMA Motocross Championships," said Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park Track Manager Chad Azevedo. "To bring in one of the biggest races of the year in our first year of operation is a huge testament to what we've been able to accomplish, and we look forward to bringing even more for our fans in the future."

[Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park features four tracks designed by pro track designer Marc Peters, including minibike, veteran, peewee and main tracks.

Currently Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park has 4 tracks open - Main, Vet, Peewee and Minibike. A new track for ATVs, UTVs and short course trucks is currently under construction, which will open the park to a new segment of off-road enthusiasts. On the drawing board are a swimming pool and a lake to complete the envisioned Southern California off-road destination experience.
