Kawasaki will keep its Ninja ZX-4RR in the lineup for 2024 and add a Ninja ZX-4R version for riders who want a slightly more affordable sportbike option. The RR edition will price between $9,899 and $10,999 while the ZX-4R will be priced at $9,399.
The platform is still new, debuting earlier this year, so there are no major revisions to speak of, however the new single R option is notable. It has almost every feature found on the RR, except for a simpler electronics suite and fewer adjustability options for the Showa suspension.
The rider aids still include three-mode traction control, power modes, and ABS but lack the quickshifter found on the RR. The front SFF-BP fork comes with spring preload adjustability on the RR but not the R, and the R will only have spring preload adjustment at the rear, rather than the full package found on the RR.
Beyond that, both make use of Kawsaski’s new 399cc four-cylinder engine, both tip the scales at a claimed 415 pounds, and both have full-color TFT instrument displays plus the same braking kit and dimensions. Color options differ, with the R only coming in a Metallic Spark Black and the RR available in Lime Green/Ebony or a Metallic Spark Black colorway.
So the new ZX-4R isn’t going to be a slouch and will no doubt prove to be quite a lot of fun on the track or your favorite backroads.
