without plying him with alcohol

Anyone who's met me knows I'm shy and reserved. But after a couple martinis you can't shut me up! Fortunately, cocktails were served at the premiere of Mark Neale's new documentary, The Doctor, The Tornado & The Kentucky Kid at Paramount Studios in Hollywood a few months ago. So I didn't hesitate to approach The Texas Tornado himself for a chat.
Lucky for me, Colin Edwards was very accommodating while his adoring public swarmed him for photos and autographs. What really impressed me was the time he spent speaking with fans rather than simply shaking their hands, saying hi and goodbye. During our conversation, he seemed sincerely interested about my novice racing “career” and encouraged me to pursue it. It turns out we have something else in common as well: We wear the same size leathers, which brings me to my point.
In the December 2006 issue of Motorcyclist magazine, readers will have a chance to win a set of Spidi leathers worn by Colin during his days with the Telefonica MoviStar Honda MotoGP team. No joke: The suit has been hanging in my office ever since Bill Berroth of Spidi importer Motonation sent it to us to give away. If you happen to win, don't be alarmed if there is a faint scent of perfume. I wore it a couple of times around the office to make the Sport Rider guys jealous. I like to torment them.
The contest isn’t easy, though. To win, you’ve got to answer some tough trivia questions about Colin’s racing career, and then be lucky enough to be drawn from all the entries with the correct answers. But if you’re as big a fan of Colin as I am now, it’ll be a breeze.
Good luck!
