2025 Honda Transalp XL750 Preview With Video

Honda shows off an updated Transalp XL750 for 2025.

Honda Motor Europe pulls the wraps off an updated-for-2025 XL750 Transalp.Honda

Introduced last year, the Honda XL750 Transalp is a middleweight adventure motorcycle catering to riders who crave versatility across various terrains. After its first year of production (2024 MY), we’re already seeing some nice improvements in the 2025 Transalp.

“We looked closely at what made the first model so good and aimed to strike the right balance between urban agility, long-distance on-road touring comfort, and off-road capability,” wrote Masatoshi Sato, Transalp large project leader, Honda Motor Japan. “In reaching this balance, we considered all aspects in a ‘360-degree’ way, creating a bike that offers riders of all experience levels a fresh new option in the Honda range. Around town or around the world — the Transalp is ready!”

This model brings back the Transalp name with a refined, modern approach, featuring a high-revving 755cc parallel-twin engine that delivers 71 hp at the wheel. The engine’s design is intended to provide smooth power delivery, making it suitable for both highway cruising and rugged trails.

The XL750 gets a much needed (in our opinion) facelift that makes it look less like the retired CB500X.Honda

Its six-speed transmission is optimized for adventure riding, allowing seamless shifts across a wide range of speeds. An electronic up-and-down quickshifter is available as an option. Additionally, the bike comes equipped with selectable riding modes that adapt throttle response and traction control, giving riders the confidence to tackle various surfaces and weather conditions.

American Honda has yet to officially announce this product but expect an MSRP over $10,000.Honda

Aesthetically, the XL750 Transalp combines Honda’s signature design language with rugged adventure elements, including a protective windscreen, upright riding position, and a robust chassis. It departs from the CB500X design, featuring a sleeker appearance, new LED headlamps, and a redesigned windscreen for improved airflow while riding.

The color TFT display has been updated (thankfully), and Honda has added its new backlit multi-switch button, also used on the CBR650R and CB650R, which we tested earlier this year. Honda has historically lagged behind in the user experience department, so we hope the new dash display and menu system offer a more intuitive layout.

In true ADV spirit, it retains a 21-inch front wheel and an 18-inch rear wheel, providing stability over rough terrain. The bike’s braking system includes triple disc brakes with ABS. With a comfortable seat and a design encouraging long-distance comfort, the 2025 Honda XL750 Transalp targets riders who seek a reliable and adaptable bike for both urban commuting and off-grid exploration.

We appreciated the OE damping settings on the 2024 XL750, but for 2025, Honda has added damping firmness to the shock. Additionally, it has accelerated the compression and rebound circuits in the fork to achieve better compliance. The bike still weighs around 462 pounds. There’s still no word on cruise control or pricing, though it’s expected to cost over $10,000 when it arrives in America in 2025.
