American Honda’s 2024 CRF250F returns to the new motorcycle lineup unchanged, with a starting price of $4,999. It’s available now from your friendly neighborhood Honda dealer. Compared to the competition-specification CRF250R and CRF250RX, the “F” designation is for recreational off-road riders seeking a durable and easy-riding dirt bike.
The CRF250F has mass off-road rider appeal thanks to its friendly, fuel-injected 250cc single. Engineers added a counterbalancer and additional cc’s a few years back (read the 2019 Honda CRF110F, CRF125F, CRF250F Trail First Look article) and it has only made power delivery and engine character more friendly.
It’s off-road legal in all 50 states too, which makes things easy for those who find themselves in more restrictive states. It’s a fantastic ride for newbies and experienced off-roaders who want a more subdued machine than the 450 trail bikes in the market. The price tag is also highly palatable as well.
A Showa fork offers 8.5 inches travel at the front while the Pro-Link Showa shock offers spring-preload adjustability with 9.1 inches of travel. The 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheel configuration is ideal for off-road conditions and the nimble chassis makes handling through tough terrain a breeze.
Of course, the CRF250F isn’t going to knock any socks off in the performance department, but it will provide a fun and capable off-road experience for just about any rider, regardless of skill level.
