Honda’s Africa Twin family of bikes returns for 2025 unchanged, carrying over the updates introduced across the platform last year. Once again there will be four trims available, an Adventure Sports ES and ES DCT along with a standard Africa Twin and Africa Twin DCT. The ES DCT will be priced at $18,399, the ES will go for $17,599, the Africa Twin DCT will be $15,599, and the standard Africa Twin will start at $14,799.
Last year’s revisions included improvements to the engine performance by way of a new intake/exhaust system, valve timing, and an increased compression ratio, all aimed at improving torque in the midrange. The ES versions were made more road-friendly with a new 19-inch front wheel and updated suspension travel, which allowed for a lower seat height than the previous configuration. The standard Africa Twin models retained the more off-road-ready 21-inch front wheel, got new tubeless tires, a new fairing design, and an improved windscreen.
The platform has been a favorite of ours since it came back to market in 2016. We spent a lot of time aboard that first iteration, and since that time Honda has improved the model by leaps, introducing dual-clutch transmission options, increasing engine performance, cutting weight, and refining an electronics package that is now among the best in the class. We spent some time aboard the 2020 Adventure Sports ES DCT and were again thoroughly impressed with the prowess of the machine.
So if you are in the market for a highly capable adventure-touring or adventure sports motorcycle, the Africa Twin remains a highly attractive option.
