Blame it on Joe Bonnello: The mad lensman recently sent Editor-in-Chief Brian Catterson a link to a Craigslist ad with a note that read, "Damn, 60 vintage bikes for sale 1 mile from my house and I'm going to be out of town!" Intrigued, Cat made the trek to the high-desert to discover that some opportunistic (though clever) scumbag had shown up one day early and made off with all the good stuff! But hidden behind the garage and a row of rusty Brit-bikes sat this gem: a genuine, Hecho en Mexico Carabela. What can I say—it was May 5th! As for that Husqvarna in the photo, that's a whole 'nuther story involving an early-morning garage sale, a locked gate, an apologetic seller and a big can of Modello. All in all, not a bad way to spend a Saturday—and $350.
