Fork and Shock Upgrades for the new CRF250L from Race Tech

We all love affordable bikes, especially because there's usually money left over for upgrades. Race Tech apparently knows this, too, and is now offering fork and shock upgrades for Honda's new econo-minded 2013 CRF250L dual sport. The three new products include the RT Hi-Performance Spring Kit ($99.99), Gold Valve Kit ($169.99), and Internal Floating Piston G3-S shock ($749.99).

RT Hi-Performance Spring Kit

With limited travel, adding a stiffer spring in the right leg only (as per the stock design) was not a viable option, according to Race Tech. Instead, the company offers the RT Hi-Performance Spring kit to add a stiffer spring to the other fork leg. (The overall spring rate in the fork is the average spring rate between both legs.) With the stock spring rate suited to a 100 lb. novice rider, Race Tech claims that this upgrade will make a drastic improvement in the CRF250L’s handling for a variety of riders.

Gold Valve Fork Kit

[The Gold Valve Kit features both compression and Rebound valves that provide bottoming resistance; according to Race Tech, a nice plush feel is the end result. These kits also come with a personalized valving stack.

G3-S Custom Series Shock

Because the stock shock on the 2013 CRF250L is non-rebuildable and offers insufficient adjustment, according to Race Tech, a bolt-on replacement shock is the best way to cure the "undersprung and uderdamped" stock setup. According to Race Tech, each G3-S shock is built to order featuring Gold Valves to guarantee a[ plush feel and improve bottoming resistance while also improving the CRF's traction.
