OK, I admit it: As no small number of readers has pointed out, we probably should have published a map showing the route for the Colorado Centopassi ride featured in our November 2006 issue. But that would have required advanced planning (which we editors are never any good at) and would have required hiring a graphic artist (and you know how difficult they can be). More importantly, it would have cut into the number of photos we could run, most of which were shot with the author's point-and-shoot special, which we simply could _not _have.

So here, as a make-good, is a scan of the very map the author was holding in the photo on page 65. Please excuse the crease marks; it spent four days folded up in his pocket. Note the key in the upper left corner: Day #1 is shown in blue; #2 in pink; #3 in green; and #4 in orange.

The best time of year to ride the Rockies is during the summer solstice in late June, when the days are longer and the weather is warmer. It could still snow, however, so dress accordingly! Have fun and ride safe if you go. And tell the nice officers in Walden and Silverton we said hello.
