Washing a motorcycle is kind of like running. It sort of sucks while you’re doing it, but the end result leaves you feeling pretty good. So anything that will make the process a little easier, a little quicker, and a little more thorough is all right by me.
That’s what Muc-Off Snow Foam promises, a cleaning solution that’s now been widely released in the USA. Muc-Off is a UK brand that started back in the early ’90s with a cleaning solution for bicycles. Since then the brand has expanded into specialized cleaners for motorcycles and bicycles, along with other maintenance items like chain lubes and protectants. It has been in the business long enough and has enjoyed enough success to recruit a roster of sponsored athletes and ambassadors, so the company must be doing something right.

Snow Foam is an interesting concept, that’s purportedly the result of lots of in-house testing and research. Muc-Off explains that this specially formulated treatment is a biodegradable, water-based pre-wash treatment. It will soak your bike and make the dirt and grime saturated, so when you get to actually washing it with soap the motorcycle will be as clean as the day it was born.
You can use Snow Foam with any pressure-washer foam attachment, and it’s said to also protect any wax treatments you may have.
Also, it smells like cranberries.
All you need to do is apply a good coat of Snow Foam to your bike, let it sit for five minutes, then rinse with water. If you’ve been sitting around for years not washing your bike regularly, you may need to break out the sponge and agitate the solution to get the results you want.
So keep your eyes peeled in your local shop, or grab a bottle online from its website. It'll set you back about $15 before shipping costs.
