Lightning-Strike-Reservation: Choose from either the Standard or Carbon Lightning Strike.Lightning Motorcycles

Last week we shared news that the 150-mph capable Lightning Strike would soon be in production, and for those chomping at the bit to get one of these electric machines first, the time to act is now. Lightning has announced that it is currently accepting reservations for the motorcycle from US customers.

There are two versions of Lightning’s Strike to choose from. The Strike Carbon Edition is fully decked out with all the bells and whistles Lightning has at its disposal. A Strike Carbon reservation will cost you a cool $10,000. There’s no mention of what those extra accessories might be, however.

A substantially smaller amount is needed to reserve at standard Strike, only $500. Lightning plans to run production of its Carbon Edition first, then move to produce the base model, so if you go this route, you may have to wait a bit longer for your ride.

It does seem strange to be dropping any cash for a motorcycle that we won’t see in full until March, but the reservations are fully refundable if you get cold feet.

The standard Strike starts at $12,998, and will go up depending on the accessories you tack on. There’s no indication of what the final price for the Carbon edition will be at this point. Lightning says in its press release that the decision to open the reservation option for US customers came after an unexpectedly high number of customer requests following the announcement last week.

Let us know if you decide to bite the bullet and toss your name in the reservation pool.
