Overview

KTM’s 250 XC-F is a cross-country racing platform that is very closely linked to the motocross counterpart, the KTM 250 SX-F. The championship-winning performance is apparent in the quarter-liter four-stroke powerplant and factory-racing-inspired chassis, but what may not be so obvious is the differences between the two. The 250 XC-F features much of the same potent power and motocross-derived suspension technology, but has its own share of modifications that make it capable of going beyond the track and taking on cross-country racing. You’ll commonly find it at the pointy end of the field in the 250 Pro ranks of cross-country and grand prix racing such as GNCC and NGPC.

The KTM 250 XC-F receives a 48mm WP Xact fork, but is coil-spring rather than the pneumatic spring of the SX-F’s air fork. Slightly softer settings help absorb rocks, roots, and bumps, but still hold up well to the demands of the motocross track. A larger fuel tank, 18-inch rear wheel, six-speed gearbox, hand guards, skid plate, and kickstand make life easier on longer distances through more varied terrain.

For a motocrosser who occasionally rides off-road, or the dedicated cross-country racer, the KTM 250 XC-F is a well-equipped package with engine map select, traction control, launch control, and a quickshifter. For 2025, the XC-F receives a reworked frame, revised suspension settings, new linkage, and new bodywork/graphics.
