2025 Honda CRF150R/CRF150R Expert

The smallest Honda CRF performance bike, the CRF150R is a mini MX master.

The smallest dirt bike in Honda’s CRF performance lineup, the CRF150R is a mini motocross specialist.Honda

Overview

The mini and youth motocross ranks may be full of two-stroke dirt bikes, but when Honda introduced its CRF150R, it changed the landscape of competitive amateur MX. Youth riders could now experience the power and performance of Honda’s full-size four-stroke motocross bikes in a scaled-down version, complete with Showa suspension and a liquid-cooled high-compression SOHC four-stroke engine. The CRF150R is available in two versions—standard and Expert, the latter better suited for taller riders thanks to larger wheel sizes.

Very similar in name to the Honda CRF150F of past years (now replaced by the CRF125F), the R version of the Honda 150 is based on a completely different platform, with more aggressive performance catering to advanced riders. The R features a powerful, high-revving engine with advanced suspension and chassis technology while the CRF125F is a more modest platform (and more modest price point) with an air-cooled engine, docile performance, and softer suspension better suited for beginner riders.

Not to be confused with Honda’s CRF-F trail bikes, the 2025 Honda CRF150R is for advanced youth motocross riders.Honda
