Last year, 850,708 vehicles were stolen in the United States. You can help reduce the chance of your motorcycle becoming another statistic with the Monimoto 9 GPS tracker ($169). About the size of a residential garage door opener, this device is designed for motorcyclists who want peace of mind about the whereabouts of their motorcycle—or any movable piece of personal property.
The Monimoto 9 is compact and discreet enough to hide almost anywhere on your bike, and its rechargeable lithium battery (3.7 volt, 900mAh) lasts for up to 12 months on a single charge. No wires. No hardwiring to your bike’s battery. Just charge it via USB-C (about 90 minutes), secure it, and forget about it—until you need it.
With its IP68 waterproof and shockproof construction, it’s built to handle the same abuse as your bike. And it’s not just for motorcycles—you can use it with virtually any type of vehicle. Just pair the tracker and the included key fob with the Monimoto iOS or Android app, find a good hiding or mounting spot on your ride, and you’re good to go. Make sure to keep the key fob with you when riding your bike (we put it in our wallet).
Another clever feature: If someone moves your bike and the key fob isn’t nearby, Monimoto will call your phone. That gives you a chance to respond before it’s too late. You can also track it using Google Maps GPS coordinates to pinpoint its exact location.
Our only gripe? The $49 annual subscription fee, which enables the device to connect to LTE-M (LTE Cat-M1) cellular networks. Without that connection, the tracker can’t transmit its GPS data/location.
Still, the Monimoto 9 is a more reliable alternative than Bluetooth-enabled peer-to-peer devices like Apple’s AirTag. It’s made for riders who want true peace of mind when it comes to their bike’s location. As long as there’s cellular coverage, you’ll know where your ride is—parked or on the move.
