The Triumph Bonneville family keeps getting bigger. And better. Along with the new Street Cup Triumph announced at Intermot today, the British firm has unveiled the T100 and T100 Black. With the T120 frame wrapped around the smaller 900 engine from the Street Twin, the new T100s should offer a "lighter more accessible" option for riders that like the look of the classically styled T120, but want something a little lighter and tamer.
The T100 and T100 Black feature Triumph’s new 900cc engine, the same powerplant found in the Street Twin and Street Cup, helping shed a few pounds compared the T120 and its 1200cc engine. The new T100 and T100 Black also feature new paint schemes reminiscent of the past-generation Bonnevilles. The T100 will be offered in Aegean Blue and Fusion White, Intense Orange and New England White, and Jet Black. The T100 Black will be offered in Jet Black and Matte Black.
The T100 and T100 Black get improved chassis dynamics over their predecessors with longer rear shocks and cartridge front forks. Both models will be equipped with Pirelli Phantom Sportscomp tires, which were custom designed for the Bonneville family. To continue the heritage look, the T100 and T100 Black will come with classic pea-shooter silencers, designed to deliver a distinctly British exhaust note.
Just like other Bonnevilles, the T100s have ride-by-wire throttle, ABS, and traction control. The 5-gear transmission will get the same torque-assist clutch as the rest of the Bonneville family. Twin gauges show speed and RPM along with other general bike info, the same as on the T120.
No pricing has been announced yet, but the T100 and T100 Black are likely to cost more than the Street Twin, but less than the T120.
To further customize the T100s, there will be over 150 accessories available to consumers, including heated grips, center stand, grab rail, and cruise control. For more information on the new T100 and T100 Black, and to peruse the plethora of Triumph accessories, visit www.triumphmotorcycles.com.
