The Team Dunlop program, which has provided support to numerous amateur motocross riders for more than a decade, will be expanding into flat track for the 2020 season. Dunlop has partnered with Flat Track Futures, an AMA-sanctioned amateur flat-track series run by Johnny Lewis, to provide support to riders in the series.
“We welcome Team Dunlop to the flat-track community. I’ve been following the Team Dunlop program since the beginning in 2007,” Lewis said. “I have always admired the results they produce on the track, but also amazed by the content they produced and how they represent their Team Dunlop Elite riders so well. A lot of my ambition to develop an amateur series like Flat Track Futures came from Team Dunlop’s program over the years. I’ve always wanted to showcase the future stars of our sport like they do. Now we have that opportunity, and I couldn't be more excited.”
The program will begin this October 18 and 19 at Volusia Speedway Park in Florida at the inaugural Dunlop Tire Fall Classic. There will be two Team Dunlop Elite spots up for grabs at the event, awarded to the winners of the Amateur 250 and Amateur 450 classes. The riders selected for the program will receive a host of benefits, including free tire supply and special services from Dunlop, inclusion in company press material, a Dunlop canopy and apparel, social media features, and consideration for tire testing opportunities in the future. There will be a total of 10 Elite positions available, and the remaining spots will be filled in “a few unique ways” over the winter, according to Dunlop.
