Former AMA Pro Flat Track Grand National Champion Brad Baker is taking a page from the "pay it forward" playbook. Having benefitted from kindness bestowed upon him in Spain by Americans Dennis and Kenny Noyes, Baker (seen here practicing for last December's Barcelona Superprestigio, an event he has won twice) is repaying that good deed by showing inaugural Spanish National Flat Track Champion Ferran Cardús the ropes in America. Cardús will contest at least the first three rounds of the 2017 American Flat Track Singles Championship on Baker's Honda CRF450Rs. "Ferran is a very talented motorcycle rider," Baker said. "Maybe he went against the grain a little bit. If he would have focused more and said, 'This is what I want to do,' he might be in Moto2 right now. He needs to take this opportunity and run with it." Baker will race the AFT Twins class on an Indian FTR750.
