It may be too late to get your hand on one of the 10 hand-built 2020 Aprilia RSV4 X superbikes, but you probably didn't have an extra $45,000 to blow on your next trackday bike anyway. Yet here we are, drooling over the most exotic RSV4 1100 ever made. The bike is built by hand, one at a time, by Aprilia Racing Factory technicians who meticulously equip this beautiful motorcycle with the latest technological advancements they have developed over the past decade of World Superbike and MotoGP competition.
The 2020 Aprilia RSV4 X is intended to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the RSV by combining the best ultra-trick bits into one rare motorcycle that represents the best of the Italian company's developmental and racing efforts over the past 10 years. Based on the RSV4 1100 Factory, the X is equipped with the lightest hardware across the board, including forged magnesium Marchesini wheels, CNC-built billet aluminum components throughout, and complete carbon-fiber bodywork that results in a 364-pound (165 kilograms) motorcycle that pumps out no less than 225 hp from its equally trick V-4 engine.
Each engine has been hand-built to exacting tolerances, just like they would their factory SBK spec bikes. The X features new intake camshafts, valve return springs and caps, and convex bucket tappets that allow for more aggressive World Superbike-spec cam profiles. For the first time ever, the RSV4 X is equipped with the Aprilia No Neutral (ANN) transmission. Neutral is located below first gear, which eliminates the long shift between first and second gear and decreases the chance of any upshifting errors. ANN is utilized in both Aprilia WSBK and MotoGP machines.
Brembo selected the RSV4 X to debut its new GP4-MS calipers that are machined from a solid piece of material. They clamp down on a pair of massive 330mm rotors for the type of stopping power you could only expect to get from a factory-built World Superbike. We know this bike is sold out at this point but we just could not let another day go by without sharing this info with you, our loyal readers.
