2009 Vespa LXV Review

Intro

Initially produced in 2006 to commemorate Vespa's 60th anniversary, the Vespa LXV celebrates the history and style of Vespa's legendary years by reintroducing the trademark features and sleek lines of the company's 1950s and 1960s models. Available in a 150cc model in North America, with a 125cc model available in Europe, the 2009 Vespa LXV reinterprets Vespa's traditional design and technical specifications and combines the best of the past with every available modern advance.

Utilizing the four-stroke, 150cc, liquid-cooled LX engine, the 2009 Vespa LXV allows the rider to cruise both city streets and highways with equal ease and confidence. A top speed of 59 mph, and the ease of handling made possible by the rigidity of the Vespa sheet steel body, combine to make this scooter both stylish and sporty.

Built on the base of the 2005 Vespa LX, the 2009 Vespa LXV package includes an automatic transmission, an eco-friendly modern engine, and a suspension consisting of double-acting shock absorbers with single arm design in the front end, pivoting on roller cage bearings for minimum friction, with a fully adjustable, double-acting hydraulic single shock in the rear for maximum comfort.

Minimalist design elements on the 2009 Vespa LXV call back to the style of a bygone age and include analog instruments set off by a chrome frame, retro graphics, and a stitched leather seat with a separate passenger seat, under which there is a storage compartment large enough for one helmet. The scooter comes in either historic Portofino Green or Siena Ivory.
