Our midwest correspondent recently received HIS post-recall Buell long-term test bike, a 2001 S3T. It features a number of changes over the 2000 model, including new rubber motor mounts and a new oil-sump system.
The new motor mounts are really a composite of plastic and rubber, and are much stiffer and larger than the old. The new mounts appear to be much more durable than the old units.
Like the long-term S3T we put 15,000 miles on a couple of years ago, we plan to put mucho mileage on this post-recall bike to see how she holds up. Stay tuned.
