With a world-class team of designers and engineers leading the charge, Shoei utilized its 55-year wealth of knowledge, state-of-the-art wind tunnel facility, proprietary materials, and the industry's most stringent quality assurance practices to develop the next-generation RF. A lighter, more compact, streamlined helmet with next-level functionality, Shoei's RF-1200 has evolved the pursuit of perfection.
Lightweight Multi-Ply Matrix AIM+ Shell Construction: The smaller, lighter yet stronger shell design is compact and aerodynamic and showcases the function and capability of the RF-1200. Shoei wanted to focus on the wind-noise reduction in this product without blocking road noises. The four shell sizes ensure a custom fit and the dual density EPS liner accommodates more compact design without compromising ventilation flow.
Through rigorous wind-tunnel testing the RF-1200 has superior ventilation. With the large lower three-position vent, three upper intake vents and four uniquely positioned upper exhaust outlet vents this helmet has the best structure for air-flow.
The 3D Max-Dry System II Interior is developed for the ultimate rider comfort. The center pad components are shaped to match contours of the rider's head which allows for a comfortable fit while maintaining a firm hold for high-speed riding. The 3D-shaped cheek pads are available in multiple thicknesses for a custom, comfortable fit. The Max-Dry System II liner material quickly absorbs and dissipates sweat and moisture so that you are dry and comfortable while riding in various climates. The E.Q.R.S. (Emergency Quick-Release System) allows emergency medical personnel to easily remove cheek pads from injured rider's hemet.
The CWR-1 Shield System features ribs along the top and bottom to improve rigidity and eliminates bending from wind pressure during opening and closing. The improved window beading features dual-layered, dual-lip construction that ensures a windproof and waterproof seal with every closure. The locking mechanism easily engages shield lock when when fully closed to ensure your shield stays put. However, if you need to change your shield, the spring-loaded base plates offer quick shield changes and the Five-Stage rotating dial allows the fine-tuning of base plate for easy shield adjustments. Pinlock pins and lens insert are included.
The standard chin-strap clip neatly secures the chin strap in place so that your helmet stays on securely and comfortably.
Some technical information includes the standards: Snell-M2010 and DOT. The RF-1200 weighs 3.46 pounds (1570 grams) which is approximate based on the size of the medium helmet with solid color.
